This young man that I wrote about here back in February is amazing.
Did you know that there are other Amazing Little Canadians? Like this little 10 year-old girl, Ta'kaiya Blaney:
Can you imagine, a little girl so environmentally conscious that she writes the song above, records it and then tries to present her CD to the Enbridge company representatives downtown Vancouver.
Enbridge is the company responsible for proposing the building of an oil pipeline between the Alberta Tar Sands and Kitimat, B.C. - through the Great Bear Rain Forest - plus they are responsible for oil tanker traffic on the B.C. coast.
Because she "didn't have an appointment" she was turned away at the doors. After the rejection, the Premier of our Province (american equivalent = Governor of state) emailed her to applaud her effort.
She is home-schooled by her mom and one of her projects for her studies was research into the environmental effects of oil spills.
Ta'Kaiya is a member of the Sliammon First Nations and lives in Vancouver, B.C. Her name means "special water". She started taking voice lessons at age four.
Pretty darn good, if you ask me!
I am hoping that more of the little babies I have delivered through the years will aspire to achieve as much as this one has. She is certainly a bright and shining star!
It really makes American Idol look....well....slightly... tarnished.
