It seems that there are some people who would give up a chance to attend the Stanley cup finals to attend a U2 Concert.
You have to see this.
A Hockey player from the Edmonton Oilers team was driving in Vancouver and spotted Bono hitch-hiking along the road.
Bono had gone out for a walk and got caught in the rain, and didn't want to walk all the way back to where he was staying.
The Hockey player recognized him and turned his truck around and picked him up - letting Bono ride in the back with his dog.
I am like Betsy - I don't have very good face-recognition capability - took the test she suggested and failed miserably - so probably would have passed him right by anyway.....never mind that I don't pick up hitch-hikers.
Anymore that is.

Hi, dear......thanks for visiting my blog and for the lovely comments. If I can find the button I will follow you too.
Love, LO
I pick up hitchhikers... but, shh, don't tell anyone. And, I think I would have recognized Bono. And, yes I would have gone to see him rather than watch the Stanley cup playoffs. But, then again I'm American. Call me crazy I guess.
Lo: it is an honor to have you visit! Love your blog! ;)
Phd: I used to pick up hitch hikers eons back, but living in a city that has several local prisons and having worked as an RN at one....I don't anymore. Most prisoners look and act very "normal" and you couldn't tell them apart from your average "joe". ( I worked with sex offenders and pedophiles)
=^@
Ha, interesting that you failed the test too. Everyone else that I've told that to looks at me like I'm crazy. Here's the test, in case anyone is interested: http://www.faceblind.org/facetests/index.php
Betsy: Yes, sad to say, I too, am afflicted with the same "disability". My girlfriend at work laughs at me because I never recognize people. I have "met" quite a few celebrities in my line of work - and not once have I known who they are without someone *telling* me!
I am also bad with names. I have worked with the same people for 8 years and not remember their names....never mind not recognizing them again when I see them. :(
Just read the comments on your blog. I'm miserable with names; it's very embarrassing at times. I recognize faces fairly well, but I'm one of those that would be going crazy trying to remember from where I remember them!:)
Honey: Ya, I am not good at names either. Funny the things i DO remember....anything to do with work i am fine with - such as stuff I am supposed to remember, data related to my patients, but not phone numbers.
My husband knows *everyone* on our block....I know no one. :(
